Summer of ’69. Boys of Summer. Under the Boardwalk. Summer in the City. Wipeout. These are all hugely famous summer songs, and strange enough, you won’t find a single one on this week’s Top Ten Thursday: The Best Summer Songs. Not that all these are bad songs, but we just happened to find ten better songs for you to jam to now that things start to heat up.

It ain’t easy being the child of a famous musician I am sure. Just like being the kid of an actor or a famous athlete, there always seems to be a lot of pressure for that child to follow in their parent’s footsteps, and become the next guitar hero, all star QB, or the next Oscar nominee. Although in some cases, these children turn out to be wildly successful, most of them are exposed for exactly what they are … a money grubbing pile of no-talent ass clowns, attempting to ride the coattails of their parents fame their entire life. Even though Donald Glover is actually an actor turned musician, we at LxL decided to put together a list of the Top Ten Musicians Turned Actors. This is clearly incongruous with Glover’s career path, but being the definition of iconoclastic, we do whatever we damn well please. As always, feel free to comment with concurrences, dissents, and passionate arguments of why you think your favorite musician turned actor should have made the list. Enjoy.
