Keith Richards: Under the Influence

 keith

Possibly more than any other musician, Keith Richards is considered the embodiment of rock ‘n’ roll. He’s an infamous wild man consuming more drugs and wild times than probably anyone in his 50 years, he’s the lead guitarist of one of if not the greatest rock bands in history playing as many shows as anyone, and somehow through it all, he’s still in one piece. Here it is folks.  If you are as big of a Stones fan as us, then you should have been able to deduct most of the entries, if not the order, of our top ten Rolling Stones tracks.  What amazes me is the enormity of the popularity of each of these songs.  With many bands, the most popular tracks often seem to be simply the most accessible, but with the Stones we get the best of both worlds.  This top ten list came so easily to us, with little rancor or argument.  The Rolling Stones truly went from England’s newest hit-makers to England’s greatest hit-makers.  Please check out #’s 50-31 here and #’s 30-11 here.  Also, check out our top 5 Stones albums here.

Picking right on up were we left off at #30, we give you our next-to-last selections for our Fifty Licks: 50 Years list. This portion seems to focus more on the country/delta blues stylings of The Stones. I’d like to say that this list was especially fun for us to put together, and it is always great to revisit these songs that serve as an inspiration to me, but also to many more modern musicians that may not even realize it themselves. So here we go, let us continue with our 30th-11th favorite tracks from one of our favorite all time bands:
